Cultivo

Overview

Cultivo in Ukiah is one of those hidden gems that make you want to come back time and time again. Located at 108 W Standley St, Ukiah, CA, this cozy spot combines local flavors with a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Cultivo offers an experience that’s hard to beat.

The first thing you’ll notice when walking into Cultivo is its warm and inviting vibe. The space is small but well-designed, with an open kitchen that lets you see the chefs in action. It’s a great touch that adds a personal element to your meal, almost like you’re invited into their kitchen for a meal. But, of course, it’s not just the ambiance that sets this place apart; it’s the food.

When it comes to the menu, Cultivo serves up a mix of fresh, seasonal dishes that showcase the best of California’s local produce. They focus on a farm-to-table approach, ensuring everything on the plate is as fresh as it gets. The menu changes often, which means there’s always something new to try. For instance, one of the standout dishes is their roasted seasonal vegetables, paired perfectly with locally-sourced proteins. It’s simple but done so well, with bold flavors that make each bite memorable.

If you’re a fan of more adventurous dishes, Cultivo doesn’t disappoint. The duck confit is a crowd favorite-crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with a rich, flavorful sauce. It’s one of those dishes that makes you pause and savor every bite. Even vegetarians will find something to love here, with dishes like the beet salad that combines earthy flavors with a zesty dressing that dances on your taste buds.

What really sets Cultivo apart from other restaurants is their dedication to quality and sustainability. They work with local farmers and purveyors to ensure they’re using the freshest ingredients while supporting the community. This commitment to sustainability goes beyond just the food-it’s reflected in their practices as well. Cultivo is a restaurant that truly cares about where its ingredients come from, which is a sentiment that resonates with its patrons.

But the experience at Cultivo isn’t just about food-it’s about the service too. The staff here are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, always willing to offer recommendations or explain the dishes in detail. You get the sense that they’re genuinely proud of what they’re serving, and that pride makes all the difference in the overall experience.

As for the drinks, Cultivo has a great selection of local wines and craft beers that pair beautifully with the food. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking for something refreshing, there’s something on the drink menu for everyone. The wine list is curated with care, featuring some of the best local producers in the area.

Another point to mention is the atmosphere. Unlike other trendy spots, Cultivo doesn’t feel pretentious. It’s casual but refined, with a vibe that makes you feel comfortable whether you’re there for a casual meal with friends or a special occasion. The balance between a laid-back atmosphere and high-quality food is rare, but Cultivo nails it.

The restaurant’s commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience is evident in the reviews from regular customers. Many speak of returning time and time again, not just for the food, but for the warm, inviting environment that makes it feel like a home away from home. It’s the kind of place where you walk in as a stranger and leave feeling like part of the family.

If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of dining at Cultivo, it’s definitely worth a visit. The combination of locally-sourced ingredients, exceptional service, and a relaxed atmosphere makes it one of Ukiah’s best dining spots. Whether you’re in the mood for something hearty or light, Cultivo has a dish that will make your taste buds sing.

Cultivo has redefined the art of dining with a thoughtful approach to both food and service, and our recent experience there was nothing short of remarkable. The star of the evening was their “Funghi, Part IV” pizza, a masterpiece that left me utterly speechless. Every bite was an explosion of truffle, with perfectly roasted mushrooms, a delicate balance of creamy and earthy flavors, and a crust that was both light and satisfyingly crisp. It wasn’t just a meal; it was an event—an unforgettable culinary journey. My wife opted for the French Onion Soup, which was equally extraordinary. The rich, savory broth was layered with caramelized onions and topped with a perfectly golden, bubbly layer of cheese. Each spoonful was a comforting reminder of how elevated simple dishes can be in the hands of a skilled kitchen. The service at Cultivo was equally impeccable. Our waitress was both knowledgeable and genuinely friendly, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm and insight. Every interaction felt warm and intentional, elevating the entire experience. Cultivo isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a destination for anyone who truly appreciates exceptional food, thoughtful service, and the artistry of a meal done right. We can’t wait to return.

Absolutely incredible! The food was beyond phenomenal. Service impeccable. We had the Brussels sprouts that had an amazing sauce, the French onion soup was so good and the mushroom pizza was to die for. They also cater. Highly recommend. We will return.

We had Cultivo cater our wedding and they were incredible! The food was excellent, with lots of locally sourced options, and all our guests loved it. The staff were also really great - not only were they very professional, showing up early and helping with setup, but they were very friendly and easy to work with as well! They even went above and beyond what we asked them to do and helped with the bar and cake. We already knew Cultivo was good from trying the restaurant, but were still pleasantly surprised by how great they were at catering as well. Would highly recommend them for an event!

I was passing through Ukiah and this place was recommended to me. The fried cheese curds were amazing, and the honey mustard dipping sauce was delicious. We had a happy hour wedge salad that was a good size, only lacking bacon. The pizza was fantastic. The wood-fired crust was really flavorful. I wish I could have tried all the pizzas! The ingredients were really fresh. Our server was friendly and attentive. I'd definitely go back.
